We don't need a Renewable Portfolio Standard, we need a Reliable Portfolio Standard. The Reliable Portfolio Standard is measured by reliable, dispatchable power as a percentage of peak demand.
All of the Sensible Energy
All of the Above Energy policy lacks focus, we need an All of the Sensible Energy policy that prioritizes rate payers, business, and the environment.
Energy is the Currency of the Future
Elon Musk has stated that, in the future, the only currency will be tonnage and energy, with energy being the true currency. We have everything right here in Southcentral to be the terrestrial energy currency for a manufacturing base. Chugach must lead in developing the infrastructure.
Cook Inlet Gas
We do not have a gas shortage in the Cook Inlet. We have purchased emissions that expire with our gas contracts. Chugach must eliminate distractions like decarbonization to secure a domestic gas supply that makes up over 80% of the portfolio.
AK LNG and the Gasline
The Gasline is happening. Chugach must advance a connection agreement and have metering offtake ready.
Climate Change
The climate changes and so will the demographics of our state if energy continues to be unaffordable. We can change affordability, we can't change the climate.
